Overview of Pravaig Dynamics Extinction Mk1
This is extremely exciting, an Indian EV startup called Pravaig Dynamics. It has unveiled a made in INDIA luxury electric car called the Extinction Mk1. Now, if you’re anything like me, and you see a photograph like this.
You are probably thinking, that this is just a concept. Or maybe this is just something that they put together in a 3d software. But this is actually a real car. And apparently, they’re aiming to have it on Indian roads by 2021 in cities like Delhi and Bengaluru. So, let me throw some information at you guys.
Changing & Performance of Extinction Mk1
First, this is going to be the first made in INDIA electric car. With a range of more than 500 kilometers, that’s more than 310 miles. Pravaig Extinction MK1 is powered by a 96 kWh battery pack and generates roughly 200 Ps. And 0-100 in Just 5.4 Seconds, and the car is capable of achieving a top speed of 196 km/h. Also, the Extinction MK1’s battery will supposedly be able to reach 80% charge in 30 minutes.
Safety Rating of Extinction Mk1
And then lastly, it’s expected to have a Global NCAP safety rating of five. And let me put that into perspective for you. Because you might be wondering whether that’s actually a big deal or not having a safety rating of five.
There are only three others made in INDIA cars that have a global NCAP safety rating of five. You’ve got the Tata Nexon, Mahindra’s XUV300, and the Tata Altroz. So yeah, having this five-star Global NCAP safety rating is a pretty big deal.
Can You Buy One?
But there’s also a couple of other things that make the Extinction MK1 a big deal as well. For example, you’re not going to be able to buy one. No, it’s not because of the price tag That hasn’t yet been announced. And it’s also not because they’re only going to be manufacturing 2500 Extinction MK1 every single year. That is going to make it a pretty exclusive and rare EV.
No, the reason that you’re not going to be able to buy an Extinction MK1 is that Pravaig Dynamics is not selling them to customers. Instead, they’re going to be leasing them to fleet operators. So the way that this is going to work is these fleet operators are going to be paying a monthly subscription fee to have access to these vehicles. And along with the vehicles. They’re also going to be receiving a trained chauffeur. This subscription is also going to cover the cost of any electricity that’s consumed during the operation of these vehicles.
And it’s also going to cover the cost of installation of charging stations at the office of the fleet operator. So yeah, this is obviously a very unconventional approach. And it seems like all around Pravaig Dynamics is a very unconventional company.
So I’m actually, really, curious to know what you guys think of this vehicle. Not just in terms of the appearance and the unusual name but also, in terms of the performance. We are talking about safety, we are talking about the range, we are talking about the speed of charging. And then also the super unconventional business model of Pravaig Dynamics. Let me know what your thoughts are on all of this stuff in a comment down below.
