Overview

This record is the G 310 R as BMW Motorrad India relaunched it on 8 October 2020, and the figures are transcribed from the technical data sheet attached to that announcement. It is a 313cc water-cooled single with two overhead camshafts, rated at 25 kW (34 PS) at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm, with a stated maximum speed of 143 km/h and a road-ready mass of 158.5 kg.

The chassis is where the specification is unusual for the class. The sheet lists a solid upside-down front fork, an aluminium swingarm with a directly mounted spring strut and a single front disc with a radially mounted caliper under two-channel ABS, in a tubular steel grid frame with a bolt-on rear section at a 1,380 mm wheelbase and a 785 mm seat. The electrics are a full LED package — headlight, tail light and daytime running lights — with a ride-by-wire throttle, a slipper clutch with self-reinforcement and adjustable clutch and brake levers.

The gaps in this table are the manufacturer’s, not MotoSutra’s. The October 2020 India sheet states no fuel-consumption figure, so there is no mileage row; it states the front brake as a single disc with a radial caliper without diameters, so no disc sizes are published here, and the figures circulating for the older global bike are a different model year. BMW Motorrad India announced this motorcycle at INR 2,45,000 ex-showroom; two 2025 reports state that it was withdrawn from the Indian market from January 2025 without an OBD-2B update, which is why the listing is marked discontinued.
