Overview
The RTR 200 4V has been the volume sports bike of choice in this price band for years, and the current version wins on completeness. Three ride modes — Sport, Urban and Rain — are mapped through ride-by-wire and change throttle character more than most riders expect, from a sharp city bike to something polite enough for a wet morning. The 20.9 bhp four-valve single is the strongest torque-maker in the 200s here, and the exhaust note remains the class benchmark.
On the road it flatters. The chassis is forgiving and the seating position is upright enough for a daily commute, while the 18.1 Nm band from 4,000 to 8,000 rpm covers everything from junction pulls to a relaxed 110 km/h cruise. On the 117 km/h claim in this sample listing, the useful band is 70-100 km/h, where the bike covers ground faster than the badge suggests it should.
The trade-off is finesse at the limits. The plain telescopic fork dives a little under hard braking, the rear tire is narrower than the sports-naked options for the money, and the claimed 45 kmpl quietly assumes Urban mode and a light right hand. As a one-bike-do-everything 200, it is the most complete argument at this price.

The RTR 200 4V is the most complete one-bike answer in the 200s in this catalogue: quick enough to be fun, relaxed enough to be a commuter, clever enough to teach a beginner throttle control through rain mapping. Buy the ₹1.47 lakh Sport for the Bluetooth console and dual-channel ABS peace of mind; the ₹1.50 lakh Sport Edition adds the slipper clutch and sliders if you plan to ride it the way the exhaust note invites. The base bike at ₹1.39 lakh exists, but keeps the rear drum, and that is the one compromise this review declines to call sensible.
