Yamaha Aerox 155 Engine and Gearbox
One of the most significant highlights of the new Aerox 155 is, as its name suggests, the 155cc, VVA, single-cylinder engine that’s based on the one that R15 uses. The Aerox makes 15.36 hp and 13.9 Nm in other markets, while the Indian variation makes 15hp and 13.9 Nm.
While these figures are less than Yamaha R15, they are much greater than any other scooter currently sold in India. Integrated with a CVT drivetrain, this should make for a rather energetic scooter. At 126kg, the Yamaha Aerox 155 additionally has fairly a competitive curb weight.
Yamaha Aerox 155 Features and Chassis

- A multi-function key slot,
- An outer fuel-filler lid,
- And a side-stand engine cut-off function.
Unfortunately, the Bluetooth system isn’t quite as functional as some other units. And cannot give you turn-by-turn navigation or audio playback control. But you do get call and SMS alerts and can log various aspects of your rides.

Yamaha Aerox 155 Design
The Aerox 155 looks unique and striking with its pointy front apron and twin-led headlamp setup. The integrated LED position lamps are a neat addition as well. Move to the side, and you’ll notice a prominent central spine thanks to the scooter’s underbone design.
In comparison, scooters such as the Aprilia SXR 160 have flat floorboards. It means you can’t carry your grocery bags on the floorboard of the Aerox 155. but that’s made up for by the 25 liters of under-seat storage along with a glove box behind the front apron.
The tail section sits nicely with the rest of the scooter’s design and elements like the led tail light strip. And blacked-out portions contribute to the sporty appearance of the Aerox. Overall, the design is unique and a refreshing change from the usual scooters on our roads.
Yamaha is offering the Aerox in two color schemes – racing blue and grey vermillion –as well as a MotoGP edition.
Yamaha Aerox 155 Pricing
Prices start from Rs 1,29,000 for the two regular versions and go up to Rs 1,30,500 for the MotoGP edition (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
At Rs 1.29 lakh, the Aerox 155 is rather well-priced. The prices place it below the Vespa Racing Sixties (Rs 1.37 lakh) and Vespa Elegante 150 (Rs 1.39 lakh), which are far less powerful, and have much fewer features. For reference, the Aprilia SXR 160 costs Rs 1.27 lakh.
